This is Asymmetric Serralves by Mário Pires. It’s a short movie containing photos taken in Serralves garden, Porto. Mário invited me to write the music for it.

I wrote the music while I was dealing with the terminal disease of my father. Somehow, he was always the oak tree in the forest that stubbornly and proudly stood as the most loyal person you could ever meet. And the sweetest too. That’s the place in my brain I got the inspiration from. The music was ready in early October and while dad survived a few more weeks, he never did know I actually wrote it for him. I guess, neither did Mario.
